N Balance 2 Mile
“Pump & Run”
Rules and Regulations
This is a sponsored event on Saturday May 31st, 2008.
The entry fee is $15.00 per person. There will be no refund of the entry fee for any reason.
This is a fun yet competitive event that will test individual
strength and endurance. Prizes will be awarded for first through
third places in each category. Start time is 8:30 AM
The event will begin
with the women ages 13-17 group. The first event will be the Chest
Press. Women will be required to lift 60% of their body weight.
Points will be awarded for any repetitions over 15 and up to 30.
Next will be the men’s ages’ 13-17 group. The men will be required
to lift 100% of their body weight. Points again will be awarded for
repetitions over 15 and up to 30. Next will be the women’s ages
18-39 group. Points will be awarded the same with lifts of 60% of
the competitor’s body weight. Next, the men’s ages 18-39 group will
complete the chest press event. They will lift 100% of their body
weight and points will be awarded as stated above. Following age
groups are men’s and women’s 40-49, 50-59, 60-65, and over 65. Each
one of these age groups will have a subsequent additional 10% taken
off there lift.
Chest Press
Scoring:
1. A point
will be scored for every repetition over 15 and up to 30.
2. Each
point will be worth a 24 second deduction off the 2 mile run
time.
3. A
complete repetition will consist of the bar touching the chest
and pushed to the extent of the lifter’s reach.
4. Both of
the lifter’s feet must be in contact with the ground at all
times once the bar is in motion. Boxes will be provided for
shorter individuals.
5. The
lifter’s buttock must be in contact with the bench at all times
once the bar is in motion.
6.No
pause is required as in power lifting.
7. Rep.
counts and decisions will be determined by Bodi N Balance
Certified Personal Trainers. All decisions will be final.
8. Any
violation of the guidelines will result in termination of the
lift from the point of infraction.
9.
Repetitions correctly completed by that point will count for
points.
The second event
will be the 2 mile run.
Guidelines:
1. All
participants will begin at the same time. We ask the slower
runners to move toward the rear of the
formation.
2. A
highlighted map of the course will be displayed prior to the
run.
3. Anyone
caught straying from the course will be disqualified.
4. Though
you may give verbal encouragement or pace another runner, you
are not to aid them physically.
5. Times
will be called out as you cross the finish line.
6. Move
toward a judge and make certain that your time was recorded.
7. We
strongly encourage runners to motivate each other.
After everyone has
completed the run, the scores will be tallied and the winners
announced. Good luck to all participants and remember to always
practice good sportsmanship and most importantly, to have
fun!
